FASD-Informed Consultation
Healthy Minds Consulting provides individualized consultation focused on supporting students with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) via the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.
Many students with FASD are not successful when provided with interventions widely known to be evidence-based. Some of these interventions run counter to what is supportive for this population and can even cause harm. Yet when we provide interventions demonstrated to be effective for students with FASD, their educational struggles can be transformed into nurturing educational experiences.
Our consultation services are tailored to support you in crafting thoughtful, FASD-informed IEP documents that are aligned with current neuroscience and incorporate brain-based/neurobehavioral approaches, supports and interventions that have been shown to be effective for students with FASD.
As a bonus, nearly all of the interventions and approaches that are helpful for students with FASD are also helpful for other neurodivergent individuals and even neurotypical students.
