Supervision
The path to confident young learners starts here.
Healthy Minds Consulting offers Supervision for Educational Advocates who are interested in increasing their awareness and understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) while expanding their scope of practice. Understanding the unique needs of students with FASD allows advocates to more effectively identify and support students who may have been prenatally exposed to alcohol.
With current estimates of FASD at 1 in 20 students, most advocates have clients on their caseload who may benefit from FASD-informed approaches. By learning about the brain-based nature of this disability and how it impacts the developing child and their learning processes, you will be able to discern which advocacy tools may be more effective in each situation you encounter.
Families who have children with FASD are frequently looking for advocates who have the knowledge and understanding to effectively advocate for their children at IEPs. Developing your knowledge of FASD-informed advocacy tools will render you one of the few advocates in the United States with this skill set.
